Many medical cases report injuries related to the extensive use of walking aid devices, especially in the median nerve inside the carpal tunnel located in the wrist. Among the most affected, are the permanent users such as the elderly, individuals suffering from a degenerative disease, or those with a light walking disability that require walking aid devices to improve their mobility. To solve this issue, the aim of this project was to create hyper-personalized crutches adapted to the unique needs of every patient. The emphasis was on hand and forearm ergonomics as well as the type of material for the handle. This type of paramedical device would also be relatively affordable thanks to the advance in digital fabrication and 3D printing technology.
